No bride ever wishes for rain on their wedding day. Here at The Flyway Lodge we always have a backup plan so that our couples can relax and know that rain will not ruin their wedding. And we have fantastic vendors who work together tirelessly to make sure that rainy day weddings become the stuff of dreams.
This is how our couples learn to embrace the weather and see that “Rain on your wedding day IS good luck!”
See the rain as a gentle washing away of the past to create a fresh new beginning.
If rain occurs during the “tying of the knot”, just remember that a wet knot is harder to untie than a dry knot.
Overcast and rainy days are a photographer’s delight–no squinting eyes, no shadows and the lighting is perfect! Not to mention umbrella pictures are fantastic!
Rainy weddings make for a very intimate ceremony setting. Ceremonies which have been moved into our carriage house are softened by the warmth of the brick walls and the contrasting beauty of the crystal chandeliers. The atmosphere is relaxingly cozy, the acoustics are amazing and the pitter patter of raindrops on the windowpanes just adds to the charm!
Brides who have experienced rainy ceremonies usually have the exact same reaction as Lauren, who said, “The rain was actually a blessing! Every single guest told me that this was the most intimate and romantic wedding they have ever attended. I am so glad that the rain (that I thought I didn’t want) happened because it made my ceremony so much more memorable!”
Or how about Bekah’s dad who said, “Wow. I have to tell you that I am glad that it rained. Everyone has commented on how intimate and special the ceremony was. Sometimes you get what you didn’t know you really wanted.”
Chelsea summed it up best when she said, “I really didn’t believe you when you said if it rained it would be okay. It was. It was actually better than okay and my friends and family had so much fun. I will never forget this day!”
